Water temperatures in the bay are in the low 80´s, matching the air temperature, and the río Cuale running slowly down from the foothills of the Sierra Madres is warmer than it was in winter . Children splash in the river and ride their bicycles along the new, serpentine sidewalk
on the south side. Locals set up white plastic tables and chairs for outside dining.

Pets for Life, the vet team PEACEAnimals contracts with, held a clinic this past week in Peñita/Guayabitos in the state of Nayarit. Normally there would not be a blog written if there is not a PEACEAnimals clinic, but as I receive daily requests for help, am making space now for some of these animals as well as the appropriate organizations to contact. There are many kind, loving and generous individuals helping with rescues and many organizations that try to help and often are able to. With all the sad stories we hear and see, it is always a thrill and surprise to know that there have been so many rescues and adoptions.
The rescue groups have FB pages, and these are the best locations to advertise lost/found/rescued/for adoption/wanted for adoption/financial help for sick or injured cats and dogs, etc. These groups are listed on our website under the “resource” tab. The focus of PEACEAnimals and this blog is to promote the need for spay/neuter.
Below is a list of the groups – there may be more that I don´t know about.

HERMOSOS Y CARIÑOSO GATO BUSCA HOGAR |
I heard loud cries one day last week coming from the abandoned house near us of kittens that were no longer tiny. There is no way for kittens to jump up to the window and out to the street. The two tame and sterilized adult cats that I feed there twice a day can do that. The mama cat can do that. The owner of the house lives in Guadalajara and there is no way to get into the house. Sadly, the kittens have probably starved to death by now.

FRIENDS OF PV ANIMALS AT THE CENTRO DE ACOPIO- PUPPIES, KITTENS, CATS AND DOGS NEED HOMES |
SOS!!! NEED RESCUING: From Greg Barsalu: “There are currently 17 pups of ages between 6 and 8 weeks there, far too many for us to deal with. We are doing our best going up daily to help clean, vaccinate and feed them. But as you know, there is never enough labour or money! The medical care is being funded out of our personal funds, not the Friends or the Acopio. Three of the pups are currently in my condo getting ready to travel to Canada at the end of next week. If we can get the others out of the Acopio into foster until they are ready to be spade/neutered, then at least they have a chance. I would imagine this to be one to two months at the most.”
